About Me

Hello there! My name is Rashika, thanks for stopping by in my corner of the world wide web. I started this blog in high school because I’ve always loved writing and storytelling. I have all the news articles, broadcast stories, and opinion pieces that I’ve written from 2014 until now.

A little bit about me: I’ve grown up all over the country, but most recently I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio. I moved to Syracuse to study journalism, and I never thought I could fall so in love with an arctic tundra. I’m lucky to be on such an awesome college campus, with all the exciting professional opportunities and infectious school spirit.

At Syracuse University, I’m a Broadcast & Digital Journalism student in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. I’m also a dual major in the Citizenship and Civic Engagement program, where I get to learn about public affairs and work with local nonprofit organizations in the Syracuse community.

I also love learning about new places, and the best way for this has been through travel! I have visited India a few times to see family. In the 2017 Fall semester, I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia and also traveled to Thailand. Most recently, I went to Israel on a school trip to learn about international and political reporting in the Middle East.

In my leisure time, I enjoy exercising, hanging out with family and friends, appreciating the wonders of libraries and coffee shops, and religiously taking personality quizzes on BuzzFeed.

Thanks for reading – RJ

  1. Hi Rashika! I enjoy your writings and posts very much! I found your blog after searching for info on the Western and Southern Open – I live in a different Midwest city and plan to travel to the tournament next year. If you have any tips on what the best seats to buy are (worth the splurge for box seats? Or are other sufficient in this venue) – or other tips on where to stay or touring the grounds, I would be most grateful! Thanks for your blog posts on this topic and others! Cheers!

    1. I’m glad you liked it Meghan :)
There are many options for tickets available. The tickets for the day sessions are the best — you can walk around the whole day and watch matches from any court. But there are also tickets for just the night sessions. If you’re interested in box seats, there is a waiting list because they’re all sold out. You can register at cincytennis.com and they will contact you when one is available. Also, I recommend buying tickets early if you can, especially for big matches like the finals and semifinals…they sell out quick!
Check out the tournament’s official website for more detailed info: cincytennis.com.
Once again, thanks for your feedback. Hope you enjoy your experience next year!
